Author: The MVW Halloween Glam Show today was the very first public appearance of all the Miss Virtual World 2010 finalists. The 22 finalists were requested to style themselves in Halloween Glam. The challenge was to keep their shapes, hair color and skins while creating a style to fit the Halloween theme and still being gorgeous.
Miss Switzerland, Sabine Blackburn
Kate: I think the audience really appreciated the chance you took today to really make an impression… the huge, animated skirt and hair… fabulous!!!
Sabine: Thank you, first I was not sure if it was a good idea with the huge hair…my arc was over 6k…and some people still believe arc creates lag…but of course it can be a problem for the audience to rezz I think, but yeah I thought now or never.
Kate: You assembled the costume yourself? Can you share your inspiration?
Sabine: Yes. I wanted to come as mermaid but I couldnt come in a classic mermaid outfit because I would have had to swim, not walk and that was a bit risky with all the lag. so I went to flickr to find some inspiration on some pics, there are great fashion blog pics on flickr. I saw this dress there and thought this is it! And then I searched under mermaid hair in SL and found the hair I wear.
Kate: Your hair flowed like you were under water!
Sabine: I wanted to wear a smaller hair but the smaller they didnt have in blond and we were supposed to wear our usual hair colour. It was not simple to walk with this.
Kate: Tell me about the jewelry! It matched in both color and style!
Sabine: I went to Tekeli-li for the jewellery – I knew they had like mermaid accessories.
Kate: I haven’t seen many earrings with both helix and lobe piercings!
Sabine: They are single attach and they fit like a charm, to my ears at least hehe.
Kate: How long would you say you worked on putting together this costume?
Sabine: About one week, lol. I tried other outfits first…but was not satisfied. I want that wow effect for myself,then I know it’s gonna be good.
Kate: You really put your heart and soul into MVW!
Sabine: I love styling and I always put a lot in my styling for shows or contests, especially Miss Virtual World. I like to be creative 
And what a show it was! Frolic Mills, BOSL & CO CEO, “I think they all made it very clear today why these are the 22 finalists for MISS VIRTUAL WORLD. I saw fab models. I saw fab outfits and I saw some great modeling !! In fact, I don’t think I remember a higher quality fashion show that this one EVER!!” And trust me, Frolic is hard to impress! The next Miss Virtual World event will be the first Press Presentation on December 7th. The Grand Finals for the Miss Virtual World will be held at the Patch Thibaud Auditorium on December 19, Saturday.

Awesome is my description of the Miss Virtual World Halloween Glam event. It was wonderful to work with women from all over the world, such professionalism amongst all the constestants.I am honored to be part of a group with so many beautiful women, who take such pride in their hard work and dedication.The costumes were wonderful everyone truely shined as they made their way on stage. I have to thank Frolic and Kay and Mui for their hard work in putting this show together, it was a success.All the people in the audience who came out to support us, thank you.
I agree with the other, It was a fabulous exciting and all around thrill to be part of such a great event. I have to say each and every costume was amazing. From the little sparkles of the tiaras to the spooky spiders adorning the hair…. All the contestants where champs when it came to the crashing and lag issues…
Reflecting on each challenge I see just way all of these wonderful women where chosen. Their style, grace , and sense of honor is by far the highes in SL… Thank you for letting me be a part of your lives for such an important part of our sl lives.
I would also like to extend a very big thank you for Frolic, Kay and every one on the Miss Virtual World staff. Great big kisses and hugs for all your hard work and dedication to help bring this spectacular experience to us all….. runs over and kisses kay …. tyty huny
I agree with the girls, the show was totally fabulous! Great choreography, great set, great host, great audience, but above all.. great models. Everyone looked so creative and unique.. Hard to chose a favourite one, lol. It’s an honor to be with them in the Miss Virtual World pageant. *Me takes a bow!
I want to give my special thanks to Kay Fairey. She really supported us in any way. Nothing was too much for her. Thank you so much again Kay, you’re truly a wonderful person.

A show I will never forget…
The show was a wonderful experience and I totally enjoyed seeing my fellow contestants in their glamorous halloween costumes. The imagination level was just awesome. It was a great venue with the set orange and black and alot of energy with all of us as we showed ourselves to each other and the rest of second life. I also congraulate all my fellow contestants, and I felt so very fortunate to be a part of such a wonderful group of women. I also send lots of thanks to Kay Fairey for helping us in every possible way, and for her smiles and calm when we all neeeded it.
This show was indeed a fabulous presentation for all of the contestants, and I hope that everyone watching enjoyed it as much as we all did! It represented the hard work and dedication of all of the contestants, all of the designers whose items we wore, as well as the Miss Virtual World Organization. Kay Fairey, Frolic Mills and Mui Mukerji set up the fabulous Halloween-chic stage we were honoured to walk down, provided support for our morale (even with monster lag), and the opportunity to be presented for the first time as official MVW candidates. We truly are fortunate to be representing a diverse and wonderful world that we live in, both in SL and RL. I’m sure I speak for all when i say that we hope we can make everyone proud, showcase designers both new and established, and have great fun along the way to the Miss Virtual World 2010 Competition!
The show as a wonderful experience for me. I personally know that all the contestants worked hard to put together glamourous costumes. Its too bad there are not more pictures of the fully rezzed costumes so everyone could see how glamorous we all were. I want to congratulate all my fellow contestants for a simply fabulous job and for doing so well with the lag conditions. You all truly are elegant and glamorous ladies and I feel proud to be a part of such a great group. I want to thank Kay Fairey for doing a wonderful job of getting us ready for the show and keeping the morale going backstage while we waited during the show. Yayyyyy Kay!
