MISS ITALY

Mavi Beck
Born: 1/21/07

I was born and raised Italian, and I live in Italy, but I am not your stereotypical Italian. I can’t cook all that well, I am not loud, and I tend to keep to myself. Other than Italian, I speak English fluently. My Second Life husband Jarl Soderstrom is also my Real Life husband, and at home we speak only English. I also have a good grasp of German, French, Spanish, and. if you talk to me in Danish, I might understand that, too, so watch out what you say around me! ;)

After reading a real life friend’s blog about the wonders of an alternative world, where you could be whatever you wanted to be, I created an  account using my real life nickname, Mavi. I picked Beck for my last name because I am a fan of Beck (the musician, not the beer :P ).

I started working in SL as a hostess at my friend’s place, Korova Milk Bar. Then I had the chance to DJ. Music is my greatest passion, and in real life I have worked at a radio station. Playing music at Korova gave me the opportunity to make some really amazing friendships that still last to this day. Eventually I became the club manager and eventually took ownership of the club.

Fashion is another love of mine. I think because I am Italian and have lived in Milan, this pushed me towards the fashion world in SL. My favorite real life designers are Armani, Valentino, Dior, and Chanel. I love simple clean lines, and I try to dress as sophisticated and elegantly as SL will allow. I first started modeling in March 2008, when I was hired by the Faces Agency. My first show was the Relay For Life show at the fashion fair. It was an honor for me to participate in such show, and in my almost 2 years of modeling, the works I have done for charity have been those that I remember the most fondly.

I am an easygoing kind of girl who loves meeting new people, traveling, and listening to music. My other passion in SL is taking photographs. I define myself as a “tourist wannabe artist” – I take pictures of almost anything!
