A Real Life retail manager and World of Warcraft Junkie, like all newbie avatars, I wandered around the sims trying to find myself. Of course, finding myself was the easy part…earning lindens to “become” myself was not. Dressing  up and entering contests was one way to earn lindens. In RL I love classical music and Jazz, so seeking out these kinds of events was easy in SL. I found this wonderful place called Frank’s, but there was a dress code. Freebie clothing was just not going to get me in the door, let alone in the contests.

I went to purchase my first gown, and I needed glamorous jewelry to finish off the look. I landed at the  doorstep of  JCNY, and I was in total awe of the beautiful models, amazing jewelry, and impressive runway. It was love at first site. I knew from that moment on, fashion was in my future. My avatar just had to be up there with  the models on the JCNY runway! Little did I know it was much harder than it looked – I didn’t have a single pose, I didn’t even know what a facelight was, but I was so happy to be chosen as that week’s model, I just stood there and smiled.

That was the day my first Model Mentor came into my SL life. Off to modeling classes I went, and soon I was at the top of my class. I was invited to LookElite modeling after graduation, and I decided to learn the craft of building. By fall I was in 12 agencies, and my husband Jens Marksman and I were building runways for many agencies, a very successful tool for learning what is needed for different presentations of designers’ visions.

I wanted to give back to the SL community through charity work, so I got involved with the 2008 BOSL-hosted Make a Wish Fundraising Month campaign as a model, builder, and hostess. In 2009 I have been involved with Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Maseno Project, Make A Wish, Walk-a-thon, and the animal abuse projects.

Ranena Olivia asked me to model for her store ads. This began a great friendship. I also entered the Miss Bliss Princess contest, in which I became one of the final four chosen. In May of 2009, I ran for Miss Universe of Fashion, and after 9 weeks of tests and runway shows I was named Miss Universe of Fashion 2009-2010. Along with this excitement I entered the MISS VIRTUAL WORLD contest for 2010, hoping to be on of the lucky girls to make the call backs. I was soon surprised to find out that I was among the offical finalists for 2010. This is the biggest honor that could ever be  bestowed upon me.

These are very important to me, because it is a way for giving back to those who need it. I also had the honor of being involved with help! magazine launch. This magazine helps bring more attention to the  needs of AIDS victims and their families. I have done many projects such Fashion Weeks for Modavia and BOSL as  well as the videos shot by Lowe Runo, “The Geeks are Right.”

In September 2009, my husband Jens and I started a new business called J and W Jewelers. Our designs are very chunky and runway -friendly. I wanted to make some things of a smaller scale. It has been a very successful month. We still create wonderful runways for various agencies.

I can say that with every month many opportunities have been brought to me, and I enjoy every one of them. I have seen many things the last two years and find joy in remembering them and all that it has brought to me.
