When Frolic Mills first conceived the idea for the Miss SL Universe contest, he envisioned it as much more than a simple beauty pageant. To represent the best of Second Life, of course the entrants should be beautiful. But the successful contestants have much more than that – an impeccable sense of style, grace and generosity of spirit. They are involved in this world, and they contribute to it, each in her own way.

Isabel Brocco exemplifies all these qualities. She reigned as Miss SL Universe 2008 with grace, poise, and humility.

Originally entering the pageant because she thought it sounded like (and was) a lot of fun, Isabel was definately curious to see how far she could go and would do it again if she could.

“During my reign as Miss SL Universe, I have been able to meet so many wonderful people. The buzz and excitement generated by holding the title has been fantastic, not to mention the lovely condo I have had the pleasure of using while having the title. I have been asked to be in many shows as a result and invited to more parties than I can remember,” shared Miss Brocco at one of her many interviews.

So, what prompts a motivated person such as Isabel to join SecondLife in the first place?  In her words, “I joined because I used to play Sims online, and they got very stale, so someone said check into SL.  I liked it and brought my best friend from Sims.”  That was three years prior to her magnificent win in 2008.

When asked about advice for MVW hopefuls, Isabel has this to say, “Be yourself!  if you truly want to be Miss Virtual World, it has to come from within.  Be natural, be nice and be beautiful!”

As with all things, as this pageant has grown, so has it’s name, today being known as Miss Virtual World, but the same attention to detail, beauty, kindness and sense of style remain the same … or has the bar been raised yet again?!?…
